Character and game update.

Ran into a few problems some days ago. Turns out the "Cicada" flyer can't pick up the pick-ups.
So I had to remake the game itself to make it fit.

Right now I think I finally got the final look in my head. It's going to be both a flyer and a non-flyer.
You now control a character running around picking up the stuff. And you use the flyer to fly to different platforms.
Speaking of the Cicada: I concluded yesterday that I have NO idea how to change the model to a custom one.. I simply can't find the code needed. I can't even find the code used to make the Cicada..
But I'll keep looking. it has to be somewhere. In the meantime I'll just keep the cicada as it is. I really like the controls for it. :>

And on the note of the character: I recently found a 3d model I made a while ago. I think it's been 5 years since I made it now. And the funny thing is that it's still the best animated character I've ever made.

Meet Foxbot. A robot fox ninja.

As for the level design. I changed it from a wast empty boring thing to a city made of skyscrapers. it suddenly has a better feel to it. Flying through massive structures is a lot more fun than flying through nothing.
Gonna update more on the city later when I get some actual work put into it. For now it's just placeholders.

New update.

Not really too much to talk about now.
Currently going through the scripts to make sure the flying thing is working.
So far it's not. The current one is just using a camera I made for my previous platform game, and the flying is just the command "fly" being run every time the game starts.
I figured I need to make it simple in order to actually get it done before the time runs out. So I plan to just take the "cicada" flyer from 'Unreal 3' since it's already in the code, and just change things up a bit to make it into the flyer I made. No pics of that one yet. Still looks like a pile of goo in the shape of a plane...

Another thing I've done is adding some enemies to certain points of the map. They're all just the robot from 'Unreal 3', and the AI is a simple copy of the in-game one.
They're all armed with rocket launchers and ray guns. if only they'll stop shooting each other instead of the player...

So far not much

Not much to report so far.
The game is stuck in a jar.
Added a few screenshots.
Rearranged some of the slots.
This game will not be a star.

The test-level still looks like junk.

The beginning of the start

This page will be the site of my third UDK game: Take Flight!

The game will be made for a school project so it won't be as complex as my other games.

Now for a bit of information on the game itself:
You control a "helicopter" that has to fly around in the sky, gathering power-crystals. And when you collect enough, hopefully there will be a huge boss coming down to stop you ( if I manage to get it to work.. ).
There will also be enemies around if things go as planned.
